Good communication is a key requirement for many projects to succeed. Without it, many projects can fail prematurely or the result delivered may not be what the client expected. Set a Timetable

One of the most important aspects of communication is that it needs to be taking place on a regular basis. Even if you and your manager are handling your communications professionally, if you don't exchange information on a regular basis, there might be problems down the road. Regular communication is the best way to ensure that both parties are up-to-date.

To ensure that communication is taking place regularly, you should set up a timetable. This timetable should clearly indicate when the two of you will be communicating e.g. meeting in person or making calls.

Properly Define the Method of Communication

Even if you have a timetable that ensures communication takes place regularly, your manager may need to reach you in case of an emergency. Failing to pick up their call could be costly.

Set Up Good Communication Lines with Other Teams

Not everyone involved in the project will be working under the same manager. Therefore, it's just as important that the manager communicated well with others involved in the project e.g. electricians, HVAC technicians etc. Ensure that there are open lines of communications between the various teams or individuals to avoid mistakes and conflicts in the project.
